Connecting to Mobile Resources: EBSCOHost

About EBSCOHost

EBSCOHost provides access to an extensive range of research databases, that in turn allow you to search across thousands of full-text journals and electronic books.

EBSCOHost App

  The flagged databases below are to be cancelled in January 2017.
 
The EBSCOHost app allows you to conveniently search any of the EBSCOHost databases from your smartphone.
 
EBSCOHost databases include:
  • CINAHL
  • Education Research Complete
  • ERIC
  • GreenFILE
  • Health Business
  • Health Policy Reference Centre
  • LISTA
  • Medline
  • Professional Development Collection
  • Psychology & Behavioural Sciences collection
  • PsycINFO
  • Soc INDEX
 
Not only can you run a search from your smartphone, you can also view, save and email articles in PDF format, where fulltext is available.
 
This app requires an internet connection to run.
 
Instructions
 
Setting up using your mobile device:
  1. Click here (this will open Medline which is an EBSCOHost database).
  2. Sign in using your ePass details when prompted and then click on 'Full Site'.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the link iPhone and Android Apps. Enter your email address and click Send.
  4. Open your email account from your mobile device (you must use the inbuilt email function on your mobile device).
  5. Open the email from EBSCOHost and click the first link to download the app.
  6. Once downloaded, go back to the email and click the second link which will authenticate your app.
  7. Wait for the app to load.
  8. The app is now ready to use.

Setting up using a computer:

  1. Go to the library website and click on any of the EBSCOHost databases (listed above). Note: Click on the database name, not on the mobile icon.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the link iPhone and Android Apps. Enter your email address and click Send.
  3. Open your email account from your mobile device (you must use the inbuilt email function on your mobile device).
  4. Open the email from EBSCOHost and click the first link to download the app.
  5. Once downloaded, go back to the email and click the second link which will authenticate your app.
  6. Wait for the app to load.
  7. The app is now ready to use.
