Videoconferencing & Desktop Collaboration Tools: Home

About this Guide

This guide has been developed to support NT Health staff who use video conference technology and desktop collaboration tools for teaching and learning or for collaborating with colleagues.

Videoconferencing is the real-time communication between two or more locations using audio and visual equipment. Desktop collaboration tools allow two or more people to share desktops, documents and programs while engaging in voice or video calls.

While still used primarily for meetings, these technologies are becoming increasingly popular in distance education as a cost-effective tool for connecting with remote staff and students.
