Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is the NTG-wide Desktop Collaboration Tool currently being rolled out now across the Department, replacing Skype for Business.

Microsoft Teams is a communication and collaboration tool for workplace chat, video meetings, file storage and application integration.

To find the application on your computer search for Microsoft Teams in your start menu or double click on the icon located on your desktop.

(Microsoft Teams can also be used with non-NTG participants.)

To get started follow the instructions in the Getting Started guide below. Additional help can be found at the links to the right of this page.

Join a Teams Meeting

When you co-ordinate a meeting or if you need to join a meeting that someone else has organised there are different options for joining in.

Go to the Outlook Calendar invitation or your email invitation and choose the following option that best suits your situation.

Option 1 - Desktop computer

A headset with microphone is required, a camera is optional.

From a mobile device use the device's inbuilt  camera and microphone.

Option 2 - Video Conference System

Type the text ending in @teams.nt.gov.au into the VC dial-in field, this will be the same for Cisco Units that have an iPad or for Jabber desktop software. When prompted enter in the Video Conference ID number.

Option 3 - Telephone

If you don't have access to a computer with a mic and headset or video conference equipment you can simply dial in by telephone
