NT Health Research and Publications Online Helpguide: How to include NT Health in your author affiliation

How to include NT Health in your author affiliation

NT Health Research and Publications Online collects research publications where the author has included 'NT Health' as part of their affiliation. According to the Publication of Research NT Health Policy, all NT Health researchers, staff and/or students, involved in research activity supported by NT Health, in-kind or otherwise, must include ‘NT Health’ as part of their affiliation in all relevant publications, reports and correspondence, if any of the following apply:

  • all or part of the work was undertaken during NT Health paid or unpaid working hours
  • the employee gained approvals or funding for the research project under their NT Health credentials
  • the employee used their NT Health credentials to gain access to clinical data, government property or other relevant information not publicly available for their research
  • the employee received in-kind support for their research.

In this order, your affiliation must include:

  • The name of clinical service, speciality, unit,
  • ‘NT Health’,
  • Location of service, speciality, unit,
  • Region, ‘Northern Territory’

For example:

Oral Health Services, NT Health, Nhulunbuy, East Arnhem, Northern Territory

All NT Health researchers must use this format, and cannot substitute ‘NT Health’ with any other identifier of the agency, or leave it out altogether.

NT Health researchers, staff and/or students involved in research at a facility other than NT Health, that has received partial in-kind or funding support from NT Health, should include both NT Health and the research partner institution as dual affiliations. The format is as follows:

  • Affiliate Organisation Unit/School/Area,
  • Affiliate Organisation title,
  • NT Health unit, service, speciality,
  • NT Health,
  • NT Health location,
  • Northern Territory.

For example:

Tropical Diseases, Menzies School of Health Research, Global and Tropical Health Division, Infectious Diseases, NT Health, Royal Darwin Hospital, Northern Territory.
