NT Health Research and Publications Online Helpguide: NT Health Research collection

About the NT Health Research collection

The NT Health Research collection provides an overview of the research activities and projects undertaken by NT Health staff. It includes four modules - Author Profiles, Projects, Research and Conference Publications, and Work Unit profiles.

Author Profiles

Author Profiles bring together the publications and projects of NT Health staff who publish journal articles and who affiliated with NT Health at the time of publication, or are involved in NT Health research projects. All current NT Health staff who have published journal articles or other research based publications, or who are involved in an active NT Health research project, are eligible for an Author Profile. Author Profiles are retained indefinitely, unless the author submits a request to remove the profile.

Projects

The Projects module is a registry of active research projects being undertaken at NT Health, including clinical trials and quality improvement projects.

Research and Conference Publications

The repository’s Research and Conference Publications collection contains item records for journal articles and other research publications such as book chapters, conference papers, and posters, and provides an overview of the interests, research activities and projects undertaken by NT Health staff.

Where permitted, the full-text publication is included in the item record. However, where copyright, intellectual property and publisher agreements do not permit research literature to be made available on open access, the Library creates a metadata-only record in the repository that identifies the research publication and links to the published version, where possible.

Library Services only collects research publications where the author has listed NT Health in their affiliation, per the Publication of Research NT Health Policy.

Criteria for inclusion:

Research literature and outputs accepted into the repository include:

  • Book chapters;
  • Conference papers, presentations or posters presented while representing NT Health;
  • Full-text journal articles that are the author’s original manuscript and may have been submitted to a publisher (The ‘Submitted Version’);
  • Full-text journal articles that have been peer-reviewed but not yet published (The ‘Accepted Version’.);
  • Full-text journal articles that are the final, published version but the author is permitted to submit the article to an open-access repository as part of their publishing agreement (The ‘Published Version’.);
  • Metadata-only records for published research articles where copyright, intellectual property or publisher agreements do not permit the full-text article to be made available on open access;
  • Multimedia such as podcasts and radio interviews;
  • Reports;
  • Research publications arising from Australian Research Council, National Health and Medical Research Council or other public funding agency grant;
  • Author has listed NT Health in their affiliation.

Work Units

The Work Units module contains a collection of profiles for NT Health work units that are linked to records within the repository.

For example, someone visiting the repository may open the Infectious Diseases (IFD) work unit profile and see which IFD staff have an Author Profile, see a list of publications linked to IFD, including NT Health publications and research publications, and see which research projects IFD is currently involved in.
