Services for the NT Medical Program

The NT Health Library Service provides support and services to staff and students of the NT Medical Program (NTMP). This includes:

  • Flinders Graduate Entry Medical Program NTMP students
  • 3rd to 6th Year medical students from Flinders University and James Cook University
  • Students from other universities on placement through Flinders for longer than 6 weeks

Registered NTMP library members can borrow up to 4 books from the NTMP Collection (4 week loan) and 4 books from the Main Collection (4 week loan) at any one time.

Search for items held in our libraries, online and in hard copy, by searching our online library catalogue.

Yes! Each of the health libraries across the territory have computers which can be used by members of the library. They are all fully set up with access to the intranet and internet, Microsoft Office and more. You don't need to make a booking, however in peak times, priority will be given to NT Health staff.

You will require a username and password in order to use a library computer. Contact Heather Kirk or Gill Paynter with the NT Medical Program on (08) 8946 8138 for assistance with obtaining a username and password.

The Alice Springs, Darwin, Katherine and East Arnhem health libraries all have free wireless internet available to members. Just ask a staff member for the current password. In Darwin, NTMP students are encouraged to connect to the eduroam WiFi network where possible.

Self-service photocopying, printing and scanning are available in each of our libraries.

NTMP students and staff can access the library's electronic collections through eLibrary while using any NT Health computer. You will require a username and password in order to use any NT Health computer. You can also access the electronic resources of your own university through either Flinders University Library or James Cook University Library

Flinders University Library offers a range of support services to Flinders students who are studying externally or by other flexible means and live outside the Adelaide metropolitan area.

Although the main texts for the NTMP are held at CDU and NT Health Libraries, students in Darwin also have access to materials held in Flinders Library.  Students and staff may request these resources any time via SendIt.  They will be delivered to you free of charge, and by express courier.

 

After hours access to the library is available to NTMP staff and 3rd and 4th Year students. Ask a library staff member for an After-Hours Access Form.
