Supporting medication safety organisation outcomes
In 2022, Library Services supported the RDH Medication Safety Team with expert literature searching that contributed to efficient quality improvement practices. The Medication Safety team utilised the library to review and update existing processes in line with current best practice evidence as a result of an identified variation from the 2021 RDH accreditation. The team also utilise library spaces for meetings; order medication administration support tools from the library acquisitions (ordering) service; medication management tools such as MIMs, Therapeutic Guidelines, Australian Injectable Drugs Handbook and the Australian Medicines Handbook.
Library staff have also provided research assistance for professional development activities, including postgraduate study and contributed to successful outcomes at both individual and organisation levels. "Librarians are very accessible and friendly" so if you haven't already called upon the library to help support your work area in quality improvement activities - you could be missing an important and valuable resource.

WHAT YOU'RE SAYING
" I appreciate having access to Health Library. It is a great resource. The librarians are very knowledgeable, helpful and always very prompt. I find the librarians are great time saver, when you cannot find what you are trying to search yourself, as they can suggest different keywords or run searches for you. Online training was helpful to improve my literature search skills. I also love that library books can be delivered to/returned from your workplace, saving my trip to the library. "
