Mental health resources
In recognition of World Mental Health Day (10 October) and NT Mental Health Week (11-19 October), the Library's 
Mental Health Subject guide provides quick access to key resources available to support staff wellbeing as well as staff working in mental health. 

  • Explore DSM-5 titles, point-of-care tools, databases, mental health workplace toolkits, books and more.
  • Submit a literature search request. Past topics include: child and family mental health, colours in mental health wards, CBD oil ASD anxiety, resistant recurrent depression, ADHD depression in adult, role of psychologist - assessment tools -suicidal ideation.

Training and research librarian achieves Professional Excellence Status

Marg Purnell was awarded Professional Excellence Status in September, in recognition of her expertise in evidence-based practice, research support and her work as a mentor to professional colleagues and students.

Overcoming the trouble stories: a Warlpiri and Arrernte perinatal and infant social and emotional wellbeing story

There is a critical gap in culturally safe, community-led resources designed to support the perinatal and infant social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in the Northern Territory. This project seeks to address this gap by developing a culturally grounded, strengths-based approach to perinatal and infant mental health and wellbeing.

A retrospective cross-sectional analysis of the economic impact of environmental risk factors on inpatient hospital separations in the Northern Territory

To quantify the cost of hospital separations attributable to environmental risk factors in the Northern Territory, including for Indigenous and remote subgroups. A retrospective cross-sectional secondary data analysis of hospital separations data. Data collection, analysis and presentation were guided by our Indigenous Steering Committee.

Turning the tide on bronchiectasis in adult Aboriginal Australians: from neglect to action

This paper highlights recent insights into the disease profiles of bronchiectasis among adult Aboriginal populations, revealing a particularly high prevalence among rural and remote residing Aboriginal people that is disproportionately higher in comparison to global diverse ethnic cohorts.
